Characteristics of tungsten carbide guide rollers

Tungsten carbide rollers should be more common in our cemented carbide factory, mainly installed outside the bearing, when the wire and wire walk on the inner surface of the groove, the roller rotates with the wire and line, so as to convert sliding friction into static friction. Tungsten carbide rollers are mainly used in wire rod manufacturers in the metal products industry, such as wires, cables, wire ropes, stainless steel screens and other production enterprises, and can also be used in textile, chemical and other industries. Tungsten carbide roller refers to a class of alloy materials produced by powder metallurgy process by combining one or more refractory metals, hard carbides and binder metals. The performance characteristics of tungsten carbide rollers are mainly manifested in:

1、Cemented carbide rollers have high hardness, and good wear resistance, the hardness of carbide roller can reach 86~93 HRA at room temperature, and still have high hardness at 900~1000 °C temperature, so when cemented carbide rollers are used, the cutting speed, wear resistance and life of cemented carbide rollers are significantly higher than that of high-speed steel.

2、The compressive strength of cemented carbide rollers is higher than that of high-speed steel, but the bending strength is only 1/3~1/2 of high-speed steel, and the toughness is poor, about 30~50% of quenched steel.

Tungsten carbide guide roller heat treatment process:

Tungsten carbide guide rollers are made by mixing tungsten carbide and cobalt in a certain ratio, pressing them into various shapes, and then semi-sintering. This sintering process is usually carried out in a vacuum furnace. It is sintered in a vacuum furnace at a temperature of about 1,300 to 1,500 degrees Celsius.

Cemented carbide roller sintering molding is to press the powder into a blank, and then enter the sintering furnace to heat to a certain temperature (sintering temperature), and maintain a certain time (holding time), and then cool down, so as to obtain the required performance of the cemented carbide roller.
